Note: If Microsoft Word is open, cancel the installation and quit Word before you restart EndNote.
The Customizer guides you through the windows below during installation. Click Next to move to the next window, or click Back to return to the previous window.
EndNote Registration
If you are installing the full version of EndNote, enter your EndNote product key. You must enter a valid product key to continue with installation of the full version of EndNote. The product key can be found in the EndNote X9 CD packaging, or on the order confirmation of your digital product.
If you are installing the Demo version, select the appropriate button. You do not need a product key or serial number to install the Demo version of EndNote.
User Information
Enter your Name and Organization.
If you are upgrading from a previous version, you will also need your previous EndNote product key or serial number.
EndNote X9 Read Me
The Read Me file contains general information about this new version of EndNote and a list of new features. Most importantly, though, is that this is where you will find any critical release notes that may not have made it into the manual or help file.
If you would like to read this information again later, or print it, the text file titled Readme.txt is available in the EndNote folder. You can open it with any word processor.
License Agreement
You must select "I Accept the License Agreement" before continuing, so you may want to read it!
Once you click Next, EndNote may begin installing Cite While You Write files and/or files allowing EndNote Services. The files that are installed are determined by software already installed on your computer. For example, if Microsoft Word 2008 resides on your computer, the appropriate EndNote Cite While You Write files will be installed for Word 2008.
Register EndNote X9 Online
Please register your software. You may receive notification of free updates.
Click Done to close the installer and start using EndNote X9 !
